Hieronymo duo memorantur Arctini, unus Arctinus Milesius versificator omni opere et metrô, quem ponit claruisle tempore primae Olympiadis. Mox ad tertiam Olympiadem ita refert: Eumelus Poeta, qui Bugoniam et Europam; et Arctinus, qui Aethiopiam composuit et Ilii Persin. Sed sine dubio idem est uterque Arctinus.
